Terms & Conditions - Clifton Castles Inflatable Hire Nottingham

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") apply to all equipment hired from Clifton Castles ("we", "us", "our"). By signing (physically or electronically), or by confirming a booking via email, text, WhatsApp, or any other method, the customer ("the Hirer") agrees to be legally bound by these Terms.

1. Hirer Responsibility

  • The Hirer must be at least 18 years of age and shall be the person entering into this agreement.
  • The Hirer accepts full responsibility for the equipment for the entire duration of the hire period, from delivery until collection.
  • The Hirer shall be liable for any loss, theft, damage, or soiling of the equipment beyond reasonable wear and tear.
  • The Hirer agrees to pay the full cost of repair, replacement, or cleaning where required.
  • The Hirer must ensure that the equipment is used in a safe and proper manner at all times and in accordance with these Terms.

2. Supervision & Safe Use

  • The Hirer must ensure that responsible adult supervision is provided at all times whilst the equipment is in use.
  • The use of equipment by any person under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited.
  • Adults must not use children's inflatables unless the equipment is specifically designed and supplied for adult use.
  • The following activities are strictly prohibited: somersaults, flips, climbing or sitting on walls, rough play, or misuse of the equipment.
  • No food, drink, chewing gum, party poppers, silly string, sharp objects, or similar items are permitted on or near the equipment.
  • Shoes must not be worn on the inflatable. Spectacles should be removed where reasonably possible.
  • Safety mats must remain in position and unobstructed at all times.
  • We reserve the right to terminate the hire without refund if, in our reasonable opinion, the equipment is being misused or these Terms are breached.

3. Setup & Equipment Handling

  • Equipment must not be moved, tampered with, deflated, or dismantled once set up, except by Clifton Castles staff or with our prior consent.
  • Only Clifton Castles (or authorised representatives) may dismantle the equipment unless expressly agreed otherwise.
  • If equipment is interfered with and requires reinstallation, inspection, or repair, a minimum charge of £30 per item will apply.
  • The Hirer is responsible for ensuring that adequate access, space, and suitable ground conditions are available at the delivery location.
  • Where delivery cannot be completed due to inadequate access, space, or unsafe conditions, we reserve the right to charge for a wasted journey.

4. Booking, Deposit, Cancellation & Weather Policy

Booking & Deposit

  • A non-refundable deposit is required to secure a booking. Payment must be made via PayPal or bank transfer unless otherwise agreed.
  • A booking is not confirmed until the deposit has been received.
  • Until such time, we reserve the right to accept alternative bookings.

Final Payment

  • The remaining balance must be paid in full upon delivery or setup via cash or bank transfer.
  • We do not accept PayPal for final payments due to processing fees.
  • We reserve the right to withhold use of equipment until full payment has been received in cleared funds.

Customer Cancellation

  • All cancellations must be made as soon as reasonably practicable.
  • Deposits are strictly non-refundable in the event of cancellation by the Hirer.
  • Where cancellation occurs within 48 hours of the hire date (or other short notice period at our discretion), the full balance may remain payable.

Weather Policy

  • Inflatables must not be used in unsafe weather conditions, including but not limited to high winds, heavy rain, or storms.
  • The Hirer must switch off and deflate the equipment immediately if weather conditions become unsafe during the hire period.
  • We reserve the right to cancel or refuse hire where, in our reasonable opinion, weather conditions pose a risk.

If we cancel due to unsafe weather:

  • We will offer an alternative date (subject to availability), or
  • Provide a refund of payments made, excluding any non-recoverable costs where applicable.

If equipment has already been delivered and weather conditions subsequently deteriorate:

  • No refund shall be due, and
  • The Hirer must follow any instructions provided regarding safe use or deflation.

All decisions relating to weather safety are at our sole discretion.

5. Indoor Hires

  • Equipment designated for indoor use must not be used outdoors.
  • The Hirer is responsible for ensuring that the venue is suitable, including adequate ceiling height and space.
  • We accept no liability for failed setups due to insufficient space or unsuitable venues, and charges may apply for wasted journeys.

6. Face Paint & Inflatables

  • Face painting is permitted at events; however, the Hirer acknowledges and accepts the increased risk of staining or damage to equipment.
  • The Hirer must take all reasonable steps to prevent face paint from coming into contact with the equipment, including discouraging use of inflatables after face painting.
  • We strongly recommend that only minimal face paint designs are used and that all products are water-based.
  • The Hirer shall ensure that any face paint transferred onto the equipment is removed prior to collection using suitable non-abrasive cleaning products (e.g. baby wipes or similar).

The following are strictly prohibited:

  • The use of abrasive materials, solvents, or harsh chemicals
  • Any cleaning method likely to cause damage to the equipment

Where staining remains:

  • We reserve the right to carry out further cleaning at our premises and charge a reasonable cleaning fee
  • Where staining cannot be removed, the Hirer shall be liable for any resulting repair or replacement costs

  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, Clifton Castles shall not be liable for:
  • Injury or damage arising from misuse of the equipment
  • Failure to supervise adequately
  • Failure to comply with these Terms
  • Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

8. Agreement

By proceeding with a booking, the Hirer confirms that:

  • They have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms
  • They accept full responsibility for the equipment during the hire period
  • They agree to comply with all safety, payment, and usage requirements
